Kerry’s Hair Day Spa was established in Montgomery Village, Maryland in 1995 by Kerry (who was born in the U.S.) and Francisco Silva (a native of El Salvador). Hagerstown had no multicultural salon so the location was perfect for Kerry’s Day Spa. Francisco met Kerry in his 7th grade class in Silver Spring, MD. They began their romance then. When Kerry was in 8th grade, her family moved to Gaithersburg, and the young couple saw each other only on the weekends. After graduation, Kerry and Francisco sat down to decide how they were going to make their dreams come true together. They attended beauty school together with a goal of one day owning their own day spa. Kerry and Francisco worked in separate salons for many years -- each salon catering to a different segment of the population. When they were ready to open their own spa, they made a conscious decision to provide a multi-cultural environment serving all segments of the population -- men, women, and children from any background and culture.
